Back from my first day as a working woman. My brain is just buzzing now. All these people, places, abbreviations and information to keep up with. The girls in my team are sweet and seem to be very happy that they finally have a manager. Well, the whole place seems very happy that there finally is someone being responsible for the Internet and e-commerce part. Everybody wants to have a meeting with me. My calendar is already filled for this week and some for next week. A meeting for discussing group ecommerce strategies is already booked in London July 5-6. (Nice to see you again London, even if it’s only going to be for a short meeting.)
Search Engine Marketing is one of many topics on the agenda and my new boss had happily told everybody that the new Internet Marketing Manager knew all about it. Do I? Well, I guess I do. At least compared to Scandinavian measures. And do know what mistakes not to do… A week before London it looks like I'll be in Copenhagen, but only for the day. Who said I was going to do less travelling than last year?
One things that I’m not used to very much is that people asking about my opinion on what we should do or shouldn’t do. And this is just on the first day… Before I have always had someone to rely on that knew more than me. Now I’m the one who know the most. A bit weird, but I will probably get used to it. I guess that sort of comes with being a manager.
I walked home just as I said. It took about 40 minutes and was just great. I walked through the Old Town and by the Business School campus before the last hills up to where I live. I actually got a bit hot since I was walking pretty fast, but if felt good. I’ll do the same tomorrow as long as it doesn’t pour.
