I finished reading A single step by Heather Mills McCartney last night. At first when I started to read the book I felt ”Wow what an amazing woman”, but now I don’t know. She’s a survivor without a doubt. Growing up with an abusing father and an absent mother ended her living on the street for while. After landing a successful career as model and later running a model agency she losses a limb after collision with a police motorcycle. Many people would have given up a long, long time ago. She then starts to collects prosthesis for Croatia, rallies for the stop of using landmines and meets sir Paul McCartney. It is impressing indeed, but that last part of the book just feels like she’s listing all the good things she’s done so far. The early passion is gone and now it’s more rambling.
But in the end the book is well worth reading because Mrs McCartney is a remarkable woman. She’s never given up and nor has she seen herself as a victim. Instead she’s has used her own experience to help others and showed that everything is possible.
