Busy, busy, busy

I think I’ve been hit with a streak of luck. Suddenly I have seven interviews in ten days. April was totally dead. Hardly now job ads and no interviews. Then May comes around and I’m suddenly the most popular girl in town (OK, almost the most popular).

Today I had an interview with a consultancy company. I was actually a bit surprised that they wanted to talk to me since I didn’t exactly fit the profile they were looking for. But if someone wants you to come on an interview you go. The interview ended up being 2½ hours with three different persons so my brain felt quite fried afterwards.

Some manager guy (I never really understood what he was doing or his position) asked me just after five minutes "How come you been out of work for four months if you’re this damn good you say you are?" The Consultant Manager was there as well, so I just looked at both of them with a smile and said, "Well, sometimes I must also like working there. It’s not only you as an employer who has the right to be picky". I could see in the corner of my eye that the Consultant Manager smiled. This guy just hummed something and went on to another question.

I know he was just testing me and I didn’t take it personally, but I didn’t like this guy’s attitude. He introduced himself with only his first name and had his other hand in his pocket when we shook hands. As a firm believer of first impressions I can tell you that this guy didn’t impress me at all…

Oh well, they won’t pick my anyhow. The Consultant Manager said straight out that I didn’t fit the profile they were looking for, but he really liked my experience so maybe later on. Oh, if I had gotten a penny for every time I’ve heard that the last months. I would so be a rich woman.

Tomorrow is another day, with a new interview and so is Friday. And Tuesday and Wednesday next week. Cross you fingers, toes and everything else that you can cross and lets really hope that I will be one of the lucky ones who get a job in the near future.
