Feeling like a schoolgirl

I’m feel like a little schoolgirl the day before starting school. Everything is prepared, done and counted for. I even got my cloths picked out.

I went through the business plan, budget, road maps etc earlier this afternoon, and for I while I felt totally overwhelmed with the numbers and challenges ahead of me. Seems like one of my first tasks is writing a strategic e-commerce plan for the whole group. Eeek! Or maybe not. I just realized that I spent most of May and June last year in Paris working on the same thing. OK, there were five of us then, but I do remember how we did it. The Paris plan went on until 2010. This plan will only go on until 2008, so it can’t be that bad…

As a coincidence, or sign, I got an email from my UK comrade in arms from Paris. He was congratulating me on the new job, but also boasting my ego with telling what great deeds I had done working at Manutan. And I had survived fighting that French wannabe emperor. If I had done that, I can take on any challenge. My old comrade had a run in with him last week in Paris, and it seemed like he still thought he was related to Napoleon and second in line to become the next emperor. Can you tell I’m so happy to be out of there?!?!

We are going to meet up in London for some shoptalk, gossip and a couple of pints. My old comrade that is. I would never like to meet up with the French emperor again…

Wow, I’m actually going to work tomorrow! It’s been five very long months!
