Free speech online

Most of us take for granted that we can write and say whatever we like to when blogging. But still in many countries this is not the case. Blogs are deleted. Chat rooms are monitored. Search engines are restricted etc. People are sent to prison just for posting are sharing information.

Amnesty International and The Observer just launched The Irrepressible campaign to shed light on this very alarming situation. Freedom of speech is one of the most fundamental things in a society (and in a democracy). No government should have the right so tell people what to think and write.
Freedom of expression is a fundamental human right. It is one of the most precious of all rights. We should fight to protect it.
